About
The Region
Caldwell
County (Pop. 79,000) is comprised of diverse communities ranging
from riverfront to small towns to rural mountain settings, each
with its unique hometown charm and a wealth of natural resources
for outdoor recreation. The convenient location to major
metropolitan areas of North Carolina provides easy access to air
travel and Interstate highways.
Home to the corporate headquarters of Broyhill, Bernhardt, and other well-known
quality furniture manufacturers, Caldwell County has a long history of a strong
work ethic and family values. When combined with the close access to the
Blue Ridge Mountains, recreational amenities, and quality of life, it is a known
destination for both business and families. Caldwell County’s focus
on amenities for individuals of all ages includes quality healthcare with a private
not-for-profit hospital and a large physician network with many medical and surgical
sub-specialties. In 2007, Google, Inc. selected Caldwell County to house
one of its latest data centers in the City of Lenoir. From furniture to
IT, Caldwell County continues to be a place for business.
Education and workforce development opportunities abound in and
around Caldwell County and provide easy access for quality lifelong
learning. Caldwell
Community College and Technology Institute (CCC&TI) ranks as
one of the best community colleges in North Carolina. Residents
reside in the shadow of Appalachian State University, Lenoir Rhyne
College and the new North Carolina Center for Engineering Technologies. With
the addition of ASU’s off-site facility at CCC&TI, Caldwell
has the distinction of housing the first campus in the nation to
house a high school, community college and four-year college students
on a single campus.
