Nestled
on the mountain slopes and in the foothills of Western North
Carolina, Caldwell County offers an exceptional quality of life. One
of four counties in the Greater Hickory Metro area, Caldwell’s
central location provides access to a full range of amenities
and conveniences of city life. Within
its boundaries are more than 49,000 acres of public lands,
including the federally designated Wilson Creek Wild and Scenic
River. With an experienced workforce well-trained in
manufacturing, Caldwell County can provide location, incentives
and personnel for new industry start-ups, relocations or expansions. With
an abundance of natural beauty and its access to the Blue Ridge
Mountains and Parkway, the county is well-positioned for service
and retail ventures.
In 2008, Caldwell 20/20 initiated a process to assess
its existing economic development strategy and develop an implementation
plan to ensure that Caldwell County is in the best position for
future community economic development success. This website
provides information on all aspects of this process and also
enables interested local and regional stakeholders to follow
the progress of – and
comment on –the development of Caldwell County’s
strategy. |
